Trend ~ is a general direction in which something is developing or changing.
You will notice clothing trends are moving so fast. It is hard to keep up if you have spent any time on social media. Fashion trends change at breakneck speed, with the new “must-have” styles emerging each season. This really makes me feel inadequate and unpopular if I don’t have the latest and greatest trend. What if we ignored the whirlwind of fast fashion and embraced a different approach? What if we turn the world around and start DE influencing all of these influencers? Opting out of these influencers’ grasp is a bold and empowering move.
De-influence the influencers
- Authenticity over conformity ~ By not participating in trends, you create your own unique style.
- Sustainability and environmental impact ~ When you stop chasing trends, you reduce your consumption. You can then focus on high-quality, long-lasting pieces.
- Less stress, more simplicity ~ Every few months something new is “in”. The pressure to stay relevant is stressful. Opting out of a trend takes all the stress away.
- Building confidence through timelessness pieces ~ Focus on classic sustainable wardrobe that makes you feel confident.
- Financial freedom ~ By ignoring trends you can cut down on impulse spending and focus on thoughtful, intentional purchases.
- Rejecting the culture of fast fashion ~ By opting out of fast fashion trends, you make a statement. You stand against the fast fashion industry that promotes overconsumption and labor exploitation.
In a world where fast fashion reigns, choosing not to follow trends is a personal power move. It is also a step towards a more sustainable and intentional way of living.
