Intentional living
Any lifestyle based on an individual or group’s conscious attempt to live according to their values and beliefs. These can include lifestyle’s based on religious, political or ethical values, as well as for self-improvement.
The Beginning
The minimalism journey has a unsuspected side effect and that is one of becoming intentional without even trying. I started to really focus on the areas in my life that needed drastic change. I consciously chose the exact things and people I wanted to surround myself with. The direct result of these actions were that unwanted things just fell away due to lack of attention. Happiness increased and I began to truly enjoy those things that I was intentionally letting in my world.
Living with intention means saying no to the things that aren’t important to us so we can say yes to what matters most.

Meaning
The premise of intentionality is to be conscious of what you are doing and how you are achieving it. To put this simply you must be in control and aware of who and what is in your life. This will ultimately force your path towards being intentional. intentional living starts with a few reflective questions to help you understand the method of getting there.
Reflection questions
- Who is in your life and why?
- Where does most of your money go?
- How do you spend your time away from work?
- Do you have a passion or something that drives you?
- Do you have a cause that is important to you?
Moving forward
These questions are not meant to frustrate you in any way. They are to help you think of what you truly want in your life. Living life to the fullest is the goal. Achieving a life of substance will be so rewarding as opposed to just going through the motions day in and day out. Choosing intentional living is a journey not a destination. Once you truly understand the meaning and value of a intentional life, your path will become much more visible.
