I’ve only been on this minimalism journey for a few months, but it has really opened up conversations with people whom I never thought it would have effected. I didn’t really think anyone would find my journey interesting. My lifestyle change is in no way supposed to make anyone feel guilty or shy away from me because you think I’m going to lecture you or come to your house and purge your closet. I am trying to live a minimalist life, but I am far from perfect at it. The lifestyle itself has so many levels and no, I never intend to live in a tent by the river with all I own in a duffel bag. I’m simply trying to live a life with purpose and meaning and my clutter is getting in the way of that.
I am amazed at the stories I’m hearing. I realize that many people struggle with the issue of clutter and whether that is mental and or physical clutter, it all can weigh heavy on us.
The unexpected has happened:
- Friends downsizing their cars.
- Friends looking at budgets and rethinking purchases.
- Conversations about the keeping up with the Jones-es and how we all do it.
- People amazed that I only have 33 items in my closet.
I am so very honored that you are reading and in some form grasping this minimalist life. I too am learning and taking it day by day. Keep visiting as the content is always evolving to help you find your own level of minimalism.
I would love to hear your stories! Comment often, I want to see your progress!
